Alfie Hudson Taylor releases a new single to kickstart his solo career.
Today, Alfie Hudson Taylor has released his first single post Hudson Taylor entitled ‘Being In Love’ as well as a five show Irish tour.
Taylor is one half of the musical duo Hudson Taylor. While the folk duo saw great success, since Taylor has left this partnership behind, he is able to focus on his individual triumph.
The musician is known for his sonic skills and experience touring with the likes of Jake Bugg, The Rolling Stones and Hozier. He has also had chart-topping success in the UK and Ireland with over 60 million streams globally as well as selling out tours.
Even with all this success, Taylor faced many serious hardships, especially financial ones. He recounts how on the day Hudson Taylor's sophomore album reached number one he had -€80 in his bank account. Due to these trials and tribulations Taylor made the decision to step away from the Hudson Taylor partnership in order to shed light on the challenges artists face today in the music industry.
In October of 2023, Taylor started a podcast called How To Break An Artist. On the show, Taylor would give advice to emerging artists as well as tell untold secrets about the end of Hudson Taylor.

When talking about the track, Taylor says, “I wrote 'Being in Love' about my partner Gabrielle. It’s an attempt to describe the feeling of being in love."
In an Instagram post, Taylor writes how the cover art for the single is a photo of his grandparents looking lovingly into each other's eyes. He writes about how this photo, “encapsulates the song for me.”

The song was recorded in Somerset UK and marks the beginning of Taylor’s solo career. He collaborated with producer Luke Potashnick and while recording opted for a live band rather than something made artificially.
