The acclaimed Irish musician's "first and only flute" was stolen from a car in Dublin on Friday.
Fiachra Meek, a member of Irish band Alfi, is appealing for help, after his flute was stolen from a car on Green Street, Dublin, on Friday, April 5.
The instrument was in a red backpack, featuring the Strange Brew label's octopus logo – which was taken after the window of the car was smashed in.
"The flute is made of Blackwood and has a very distinct metal point," Fiachra wrote on social media. "The maker Brendan McAuley kindly sold this to me when I was making my way through London to play music. Brendan is my friends uncle and the flute has sentimental value as it is my first and only flute. It is an Eb flute.
"I will be keeping an avid eye on Done Deal and all the Irish flute forum pages to see if it pops up."
Fiachra shared an image of "the unique head piece on the flute" – featuring a "small metal point at the top of the flute":

Fiachra is among the artists set to perform at the upcoming London show celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Pogues' Red Roses For Me, at the Hackney Empire on May 3.
His band, Alfi, are also on the line-up for London's Féile MOTH, playing the MOTH Club on May 4. Other upcoming gigs include Levis Corner House, Ballydehob (May 24); Róisín Dubh, Galway (May 25); and Carlingford Heritage Centre (May 26).
Alfi, who blur the boundaries between traditional Irish and Appalachian music, were previously nominated for Best Emerging Folk Act at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards. Their debut album, Say Old Man, was released last year, and earned a rave review in Hot Press.
