Meljoann's Grand Social show will take place on November 6th, with doors opening at 7:30pm.
Celebrating the release of her much lauded sophomore album H.R., Brighton based, alt-pop artist Meljoann has announced her highly anticipated return to the Irish stage.
Back in 2020, Meljoann received a highly coveted £10,000 grant from the Arts Council of England to make five music videos for her forthcoming album.
2020 singles 'Company Retreat', ‘O Supervisor’ and the frantic ‘Trophy Wife’ paved the way for the artist, leading her to be selected as RTÉ 2FM's 'Track of the Week'.
Upon release, H.R. received much praise from the music media world, including Hot Press. Now, Meljoann makes her highly anticipated return to live music, with shows in Dublin and London.
Ellen Gough's Hot Press review highlighted the album's ode to the dissatisfied worker.
"The lyrics, vivid in detail, with breathtaking imagery, depict an artist examining their relationship to consumerism and gives voice to the collective delusion that we will one day feel comfortable and secure. On that day we will choose to change the system from the inside. Meljoann describes H.R. as a representation of 'the ways in which we collude with, prop up, and replicate capitalism in our relationships and inner lives.' Its underlying concept describes our economic fundamentalism as a self-fulfilling model of reality that no-one escapes from: our utility as Human Resources'."

Over the years, Meljoann has played support for artists such as Ghostpoet, Telepathe and Mu-ziq as well as headliners and raves on the Irish and Berlin scenes. Her live sets contain pop songs, dance tracks, disorientating sound design, and visual projections with dystopian power-point slides.
Joining Meljoann on the Grand Social stage are ÓDÚ and S.E.M.I. Following the success of her recent singles 'Men Like Me' and 'Saturday', Bray's queen of sad bangers ÓDÚ returned from a musical hiatus with a dynamic shift in sound and a fresh live show.
Dublin native S.E.M.I is a producer, songwriter and singer. He released his first EP K78 Mixtape during the first summer of lockdown and released his first single, ‘A Secret Luh’, earlier this year.
