The evening will raise money for beloved traditional musician Ann Mooney's cancer treatment.
On Monday, the 28th of November, The Sugar Club will host a fundraiser event 'Gig for Ann', with the finest Traditional and Folk music. There will be performances by Altan, Moya Brennan, Luka Bloom, Louise Mulcahy, Cormac De Barra, T With The Maggies, Stephen Rea, Neil Martin and more artists yet to be announced.
The evening is a benefit concert to give financial support to Ann Mooney, sister of Altan's Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. From the Gaeltacht region of Gaoth Dobhair in North-West Donegal, Ann is well known and loved in the Irish Traditional Music communities as both a singer and musician.
"Those fortunate enough to know Ann Mooney know of her free-spirited soul and her passion for life and adventure. An incredibly selfless, generous, kind and loving person - she always goes above and beyond for those she loves, and with this special concert, we want to do the same for her," wrote Ann's daugher Róise.
