This is probably the last time you'll catch them in such intimate surroundings!
Los Angeles alt. rockers Jagged Baptist Club, who last year toured the American West Coast with SPRINTS, return to Dublin on May 25 for a show in The Star Bar, the venue that's brought original music back to Baggot Street in a big way.
They'll be showcasing Physical Surveillance, a peach of an album that was released last November by the same label, Nice Swan Records, who look after SPRINTS and Chalk and released the first English Teacher singles.
Fronted by live wire singer Blake Stokes – no relation! – they recorded their sophomore long-player in Joshua Tree, California with At The Drive-In and Bloc Party man Alex Newport producing.
“I just imagined Shaun Ryder writing the screenplay for a Crank movie, just a collection of wild scenes and surreal images, again keeping it simple," Stokes says of his mindset going into the studio. "See you in the pit, let’s get to shoving.”
We're also hearing trace elements of Iggy Pop, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Hives, LCD Soundsystem and loads more good stuff.

As you can see from their leaf blower-tastic 'Bull On A Chain' video, they've a strong visual aesthetic and rock like bastards!
