Ane Brun has released a new single ‘Trust’, accompanied by an inventive listening party chat room video curated by Ane herself.
Trust is the second song so far that Ane Brun has unveiled from her as-yet-untitled eighth studio album which will come out later this year. Her European tour starts in October and will land in Dublin’s Vicar Street on December 6.
“I am so happy to present the official music video for my new single ‘Trust’,” Ane writes. “I recorded and edited it myself these last few days. Making this has been one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had in my career.”
Prior to the release of Trust, she invited her followers on Instagram to a ‘pre-listening party’ online. During four 1-hour-long sessions the singer met up with a total of about 100 people from all around the world, including places like Indonesia, Lombardy (Italy), NYC, Brazil, Turkey and more.
“We talked, laughed and listened to each other’s stories, and shared a moment when we listened to my new song together in real time,” Ane continues: “Many of the people who participated were alone in their homes, or with their cat or dog, a partner, or their family. Some were in quarantine because they were infected with the coronavirus or because they work in healthcare. What we had in common was that we were all affected by this difficult situation, and most of us were isolating from the outside world.”
“We felt a need to trust and meet other people. It was magical to come together like this. And when I watch the video, I feel touched, because their eyes are filled with connection, kindness and trust,” she says.
Ane has decided to reopen the chat room 'Trust', and to keep it open for her listeners to connect with each other.

Ane elaborates “It was first written as a romantic song, but as we’re in this state of uncertainty around the planet it feels like it has gained more meaning. It feels like this was exactly the right time to release ‘Trust’ into the world. I try every day to step into a mental state of trust. Even though it’s challenging to connect with that right now, I know that it’s healthy for both my body and my soul, so I try”.
