Anne-Marie is back and pinker than ever with her self-empowering single, 'Birthday', along with an accompanying music video.
Anne-Marie has re-entered the pop radio waves with her first song in over a year, the bouncy new empowering anthem, 'Birthday'. The track highlights the star's much-loved mischievous personality and catchy vocals. The track was co-written with Delacey (Halsey, Zara Larsson) and Oak (Demi Lovato, Lizzo, Ariana Grande), with the latter also lending his name to production.
The accompanying official video – a modern-day, pink-tinted nod to Cinderella – was been directed Hannah Lux Davis (Anne-Marie, Ariana Grande) with creative direction coming from Kate Moross (Spice Girls, Sam Smith). The playful visual follows the royal celebration of Anne-Marie's birthday (which actually isn't until April), complete with a lavish, show-stealing ball gown and dancing throughout her castle.
By the stroke of midnight, however, Anne-Marie finds herself back in more modest surroundings at home, celebrating with her friends.
The British pop star rose to fame for her relatability and upbeat personality. Fans can rest assured the pink-era will not sacrifice that persona at all, with Anne-Marie taking to Twitter to reveal secrets about the making of the music video, including an admission that one of the dance moves was actually just her tripping on a rug.
I fell over the rug hahahahaha https://t.co/saqYTuHzqn
