The video is the Limerick-born electronic musician's first in five years and comes after the release of his newest EP last week.
Aphex Twin has shared a trippy new video for his track 'Blackbox Life Recorder 21f', fresh off his latest EP, Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760.
The music video is directed by Richard D. James’ longtime collaborator Weirdcore; the pair had previously collaborated on Weirdcore's 2018 video 'T69 Collapse'.
The video ends with a dedication to James' late parents. James, who was born in Limerick and relocated to Cornwall as a kid, is one of the most influential and celebrated electronic musicians in the scene.
Aphex Twin is known for unconventional marketing campaigns surrounding his projects. He announced the new EP a few weeks ago using an augmented reality app and interactive art. Additionally, two previously unreleased tracks were uploaded to User18081971 on SoundCloud last week, which is the account that is generally accepted to be owned by James. Two days later, Aphex Twin dropped his new EP, his first since 2018.
