The iPod touch will remain, with doubled storage capacity.
It's no more Nano and sayonara to the Shuffle as Apple have announced they will discontinue the iPod models to "streamline" their product range.
Apple confirmed this yesterday, and the products have already been removed from their online store.
It's not all losing out, however, as the remaining iPod touch will feature doubled storage capacity to hold more apps, video and audio.
While the quirky action-musical mashup Baby Driver has awakened a degree of nostalgia for the iPod, it's unlikely to make a significant comeback: it is nostalgic precisely because it is no longer in widespread use.

The removal of the Nano and Shuffle reflects the increasing obsolescence of the iconic mp3 player, as smartphones such as Apple's own iPhone have developed to cover the same ground while offering a wider range of functions and apps.
Bloomberg reports that "Apple, based in Cupertino, California, has sold more than 400 million iPods so far, while the iPhone surpassed a billion units sold in July 2016."
