Arcade Fire have announced their upcoming seventh studio album Pink Elephant, set for release on May 9, 2025, via Sony Music.
Produced by band members Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, along with collaborator Daniel Lanois, Pink Elephant will feature 10 tracks of "cinematic mystical punk."
The project is billed as "a sonic odyssey – a quest for life – that exists within the perception of the individual, a meditation on both darkness and light, the beauty within," and it has been named after the paradoxical effect where trying to suppress a thought only makes it more unavoidable.
Arcade Fire have also released the LP's first single 'Year of the Snake', accompanied by a music video.
The psychedelic clip has been inspired by indie cinema road stories, and follows Butler and Chassagne on a voyage in their 1994 Ford Aerostar.
