After a disagreement with producers over the song choice for her scheduled performance, the American pop star will not be attending the awards ceremony on February 10.
Ariana Grande will not be appearing at the upcoming 60th Annual Grammy Awards, after a dispute with the ceremony's producers. According to Variety, Grande felt "insulted" after being told that she could not perform her latest hit single, '7 rings', during her allocated performance slot.
While the producers initially refused to allow the pop star to perform the new single, they eventually proposed a compromise, in which '7 rings' would be performed as part of a medley. After the producers insisted that they would chose the second song in the medley, Grande decided to pull out of the performance. It has since come to light that she no longer intends to attend the ceremony, despite being nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance with 'God Is A Woman', and Best Pop Vocal Album with Sweetener.
'7 rings' is the latest single off Grande's upcoming album thank u, next, which is due to be released on Friday, two days before the Grammy Awards ceremony.
Grande's performance was set to be one of the most highly anticipated parts of the night. Other acts still set to perform at the ceremony include Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monáe, Kacey Musgraves, Brandi Carlile, Cardi B, Post Malone and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
You can catch the Sweetener World Tour in Dublin's 3Arena on September 22 and 23.
