Hosted by Laura Murphy, RISING will take place this Easter Sunday at Whelan's. All proceeds will go to MSF in Gaza, evacuating Families and Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
Musicians Pól Brennan of Clannad, Seán Mulrooney, Stephan Murphy and poet-activist Laura Murphy have joined forces to showcase a very special night of music, conversation and art in aid of MSF and their work in Gaza. RISING will take place on 31st March at Whelan's with a live gig including several dazzling artists, a live art fundraiser and much more.
Award-winning composer, lyricist and playwright Daniel Maté will join Seán Mulrooney and Laura Murphy for a scintillating sit-down conversation. Along with his father, Gabor Maté, Daniel co-authored the NYT bestselling book, The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness and Healing in a Toxic Culture. He is also known for his distinctive 'mental chiropractic' practice and, more recently, for his advocacy and support for Palestine.
The incredible line-up also features Palestinian artist Aziz Bushark, Lithuanian music outfit Encoded Voices, as well as Dublin-based musicians Guud Grief and Fancy Dan.
