Although it was announced that a new singer would be joining the line up, the North Dublin rock group made it clear that "in no way are they a replacement for Christy as this is absolutely impossible, there will never be another Christy Dignam".
It was today announced that Vicar Street is set to host a "Christy Dignam A Celebration" on Friday, May 3, 2024 – a night dedicated to honouring the life and music of Christy Dignam, Aslan's lead singer who passed away in June of this year. The event will feature renowned Irish musicians performing songs and sharing stories.
The band said today however that they had no part in organising the tribute gig, but that Dignam's family did and that they 'wished them the best with the event held in his memory'.
