"Investigators are also aware that the head from what appears to be a statue appeared at a concert in Melbourne on March 14," a Victoria police spokesperson said.
Australian authorities are investigating the appearance of a missing statue head at a KNEECAP concert in Melbourne.
The head belonged to a statue of King George V, which was taken in June 2024.
On March 14, the head was placed on stage next to Mo Chara at KNEECAP's third night in Melbourne as part of the trio's first New Zealand and Australia tour.
"Some madman dropped by with a huge King George's head so he could hear a few tunes for our last Melbourne show!" KNEECAP wrote on Instagram. "Allegedly his head was cut off last year in the city… Anyways he was put on stage for a few tunes and then whisked away."

KNEECAP have not commented on the incident since their initial Instagram post, and Victoria police have said they are investigating "any links between" the head's disappearance and re-emergeance at the Melbourne concert.
The head's surprise appearance at KNEECAP's gig was not the first time it has appeared on social media. One post featured the head on a toilet and another showed it sporting a feather boa.
On January 26, also known as Australia Day which marks the establishing of the first British colony, the head was posted to social media sat on a barbecue and lit on fire.
No arrests have been made in relation to the vandalism of the statue.
