Short 'n' sweet set leaves us wanting more...
New York rapper Azealia Banks made her Irish debut last night in front of a very enthusiastic Dublin crowd. Proving yet again the power of th'internet and of course being featured way back in November in Hot Press, tickets for the show were snapped up like hot cakes last month, despite the fact the potty-mouthed 21 year-old has yet to release her debut album. In other words - the pressure's on.
Clearly in awe of the screaming fans awaiting her as she came on stage, Banks took a picture of the crowd on her phone before launching into a concise and impressive set. The diminuitive star proved the hype is more than justified as she word-perfectly rapped her way through 'Grand Scam', 'Chill$' and 'Barbie Shit'.
She chose to save the best for last though, with the über massive '212' sending the crowd absolutely apeshit. Probably the first time the 'C' word has made a lady feel all warm inside, Banks was clearly touched as the crowd screamed along with the track's refrain of 'I'mma ruin you cunt!'

Finishing up with a mash-up of '212' and The Prodigy's 'Firestarter', she was done, sadly having clocked up just half an hour on stage. Fans loitered, hoping for an encore, but got none. An impressive set from an extremely talented performer.
