In light of her recent Superbowl hurrah, MIA hardly needs to confirm her status as a bad girl, but she does it brilliantly with this track, spitting ‘Live fast, die young/Bad Girls do it well’ over a looped Middle Eastern hook. There are two ways to view ‘Bad Girls’: as a feather-ruffling cry of female empowerment or a floor-filling, low-riding gangsta pop jam. Either way, we’re sold.
