The Camden singer-songwriter/producer is due to release his second full-length album this Friday, September 22. The ‘Hell N Back’ singer will play Dublin and Belfast this November as part of his UK & Ireland tour run.
North London native Bakar sprung to notoriety with his 2018 mixtape BADKID, followed by the 2019 release of still-charting single ‘Hell N Back.’ This week, the rising British singer will release his sophomore album Halo, the follow-up to his 2022 LP Nobody’s Home.
Bakar offers all the lyrical prowess of a rapper, the virtuosic poise of a producer, and the pop craft of a singer-songwriter. He cites the influence of London grime music and more wonky UK/American indie acts on his alternative music, which resists categorisation.
With a sound that encapsulates a range of tastes, from his rap-style lyrical delivery to his skillful indie-pop instrumental arrangements, the gravitation toward his songs from a growing fanbase around the world is only inevitable.
In June, the singer released Halo album cut ‘Alive!’ (via Black Butter), an earworn of a track shaped by post-punk basslines and London grit. His growling, staccato vocals are Bakar’s most distinctive quality. The June single arrived in a succession of album single releases this year, including ‘Freestyle (Already Glowing)’ and ‘Good News,’ the track the singer debuted at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
His final single release from the album arrived today in the form of ‘All Night,’ a high-energy, dazy alt-pop track that chronicles catching a partner out in a lie and bringing that darkness to light.

Bakar’s hit US #1 single ‘Hell N Back,’ released in 2019, is once again seeing a rebirth in popularity after having peaked in the Top 20 of the UK Official Singles Chart this year. The multi-talented UK artist made his debut appearance at this year’s Coachella, along with a string of festival performances around the world throughout this summer, including Lollapalooza and Reading & Leeds’ main stage.
Following the release of his forthcoming album, Bakar will play Dublin at The Academy on Wednesday, November 22, with a few tickets for the gig still remaining here. He’ll move up to Belfast to play The Limelight 1 on Thursday, November 23.
