Band of Friends have today announced a headliner at Whelan's on 26th September 2024. Tickets start from €26.50, inclusive of booking fee, and go on sale this Thursday, 6th June at 10 am via Singular Artists.

Bassist Gerry McAvoy formed Band of Friends in 2012. Gerry played with Rory Gallagher for 20 years and played on every record with him from 1971 to 1991. He also wrote his biography Riding Shotgun, which was published in 2005.

Over a decade later, Band of Friends continue on with their performance celebrations of Rory Gallagher's life and music, comprising the closest line up to the original band with current members Brendan O'Neill, Paul Rose and Jim Kirkpatrick.
