Bandcamp has long been a platform at the forefront of the streaming game. Their try-before-you-buy system allows the best of both worlds (both streaming and purchasing), and at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, they made it clear that they truly cared about independent artists by waiving their revenue shares once a month. Denise Chaila – Go Bravely

All hail the king, the princess, the dragon, the pharaoh. Chaila speaks for herself, as does her debut mixtape – which was Hot Press' 'Album of the month' in our most recent issue, with Ingrid Angulo giving it a whopping 9/10 stars and calling it an 'Irish Album of The Year contender'.

YURN – Will They Won't They? EP

Top Track: 'No One Told Me'

The moniker of Dubliner James Smith (Gypsies On The Autobahn), YURN creates smooth, stunning electronic. Will They Won't They, released in February of this year, the title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Ross and Rachel's relationship on Friends.

Sinéad O'Connor – 'Trouble of The World'

The legendary Irish singer-songwriter makes her return with this re-worked Mahalia Jackson song. Unveiled the morning of October 2, all proceeds for this release will aid the Black Lives Matter movement.

Jehnova and lod – 'hwlcky' (featuring Uly)

The up-and-coming South African-Irish rapper and Dublin-based producer make their andfriends records debut today, with a beautifully arranged hip-hop track that features andfriends boss Uly.

Ailbhe Reddy – Personal History

The indie rock artist's critically lauded debut album hit shelves today, and it's a stunning album that charts Reddy's growth – both as a person and musically, since she began her career.

Pillow Queens – In Waiting

Top Track: 'Liffey'

Another critically acclaimed album, Pillow Queens' debut record is a stunning love-letter to Dublin that has garnered them well-deserved attention from the likes of NME in the week since its release.

Soda Blonde – 'Love Me World'

This single sees the prolific alt-pop quartet taking a microscope to its lead singer's ardent desire to be loved. Witty and sensitive all at once, 'Love Me World' is a testament to the group's excellence.

Adam Garrett – 'Casual' 

Another banger from the alt-pop singer-songwriter, 'Casual' is a 70s-washed, disco-dyed trip of a tune. It's Garrett's second release on andfriends records, breaking down the idea of casual relationships with an infectious, feel-good gusto.

Kean Kavanagh – Dog Person

The first substantial release from Soft Boy Records co-founder is, like all his previous releases, unbelievably excellent from start to finish. There is literally never a dull moment with Kavanagh, who fuses multiple genres with his soul-tinged rasp.

CMAT – 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby' 

Self-professed pop star CMAT premiered the music video for her third-ever single, 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby', on CLASH yesterday, making it clear that manifestation works – the Irish singer-songwriter is well on her way to pop star status.
