Fontaines D.C. are the latest rock 'n' roll combo to get the football crest treatment!
There’s some serious musical eye candy – not to mention beer and pizza – to be had as the Rascals Brewing Company in Inchicore, Dublin 8 plays host to Bands FC’s first Irish exhibition.
Bands FC is the brainchild of English duo Mark Liptrott and Nick Fraser who in the summer of 2018 started “imagining bands as football teams, and football teams as bands.”
With the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, The Kinks, The Flaming Lips and Stiff Little Fingers giving them their social media blessing, it’s taken off like rock ‘n’ goal wildfire.
Latest to get the Bands FC. treatment are Fontaines D.C. whose new crest is thoroughly awesome.
Running from October 9-20, the free exhibition can be viewed Wednesday-Friday from 4pm-7pm and on Saturday and Sunday from noon-6pm with some choice merch available.
“We are so excited to be taking our Bands F.C. exhibition to Ireland – we’ve had so many requests,” Nick reflects. “The fact that it’s at a brewery is an added bonus. After music, football and design, drinking responsibly is one of our favourite things.”
The Rascals HQ is located in the Goldenbridge Estate, which is a mere goalie’s punt from their beloved St. Patrick’s Athletic.
