Combining styles of aggressive music from all across the spectrum, BATS emerge with a sound all their own. Now they present us with their third studio record Alter Nature, an epic venture that finds the group at their strongest. Punchy songs, progressive writing, and lots of twists and turns make for a thrilling listen.  Whether you're into post-hardcore or noise, there's something on Alter Nature for any type of extreme music fan.

Take a listen to blistering cuts like 'The Call of Cthulu' and 'Ergot'  to get a sense of the technical precision the band has culminated. Perhaps the best cut is the gut-punching opener 'Summoning the Demon,' which also seems to thematically inform the rest of the album.

Both musically and lyrically, BATS conjure up horrific visions while pummeling us with a wall of sound.  It's a dystopian rollercoaster, that only gets crazier the more you ponder the music.

Speaking on the record, the band explained that, 'we have stayed true to our roots of promoting science and reason and criticising pseudoscience through groove-oriented metal and noise rock. We take aim at Christian Science, Anti-abortion rhetoric, religious dogma while also exploring CRISPR (breakthrough gene-editing technology), 19th-century electricity pioneers, a mythical giant hammerhead shark from WWII (Old Hitler) among other oblique topics. This is our shortest and tightest record yet. We're very happy with how it came out.'
