"I'll do better next time," said BBC Radio DJ Dean McCullough after failing to recognise rock-legend Dave Grohl.
Northern Irish radio DJ Dean McCullough just issued an apology to Foo Fighters founder and Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl.
McCullough failed to recognise Grohl during a Wednesday radio conversation about Mullingar born singer Niall Horan's "dream band."
"Niall has now added alongside Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran, Dave Grohl into the mix,” McCullough's BBC Radio co-host Vicky Hawthorne stated.
"Who’s Dave Grohl?” McCullough rebuffed.
"Oh my God, you don’t know who Dave Grohl is? He is massive, he was in the Foo Fighters?”

"You expect me to know who that is?” McCullough responded.
Grohl is an 18-time Grammy award winner, forming the grunge and alternative-rock group Foo Fighters after Kurt Cobain's death in 1994. The group has been putting out music for nearly two decades, with massive success– five of their records have reached the UK number 1 spot.
Before Grohl joined Foo Fighters, he was the drummer for Nirvana, one of the most acclaimed bands of all time, known for hit records Nevermind and In Utero.
"Guys, I’d like to apologise to everyone for not knowing who David Grohl from the Foo Fighters was on Radio 1 today," wrote DJ McCullough to his Twitter account. "I was busy dancing to Britney when he was rocking out with Nirvana. He’s a cool guy, I’ll do better next time."
