Dubliner David O’Donohue’s excellent ‘concept’ album, First Course In Hygiene (on D1 Recordings) is being hailed as “the strongest and most coherent body of electronic dance music to come from Ireland,” and is released internationally on November 12th… Also on the techno tip, Ronan O’Ciosoig’s debut single, as Ron’s Mobile Disco, ‘Subconscious Threat’ sold out its first pressing to techno distributors in a matter of days. RMD plays live at Redbox (at Francois’ new Friday residency at Devotion) on November 16th…
Fishgodeep’s ‘Music’s Got Me’ is the first of three singles from Sir Henry’s DJs Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson, who recently celebrated thirteen years of their Sweat night at Henry’s, making it the longest running club night in the world. ‘Music’s Got Me’ has Bass Odyssey’s Graham Finn guesting on guitar, and it’s out now on the acclaimed Chicago label Gourmet Recordings. Next up is ‘Let’s Go Back’ (on another Chicago label, Chez Music) and Set The Night On, the third Fishgodeep EP on New Jersey’s i Records…
Fishgodeep are one of the Irish acts on the free CD included with the first issue of Clubbing Dotcom, the new Irish club culture magazine brought to you by the people behind Galway’s GPO club. The next spin-off from the GPO stable is a 2FM Sessions Tour album mixed by John Power and Mister Spring, out in November. The free CD with issue two of Clubbing Dotcom, meanwhile, is a compilation of banging Irish music mixed by yours truly and called A Drop Of The Hard Stuff…

Tom Cole has started a new weekly residency, Lavish, on Thursdays at The Met Bar in Wexford. Massive, the luxurious new club at South in Tramore, opened without a hitch last month. On the way to the 2,500 capacity four-roomed venue in November are John Digweed (10th), Anthony Pappa (17th), Mr. C (30th) and John Cecchini (24th). Cecchini also opens the new Saturday night club Muve at Shooters in Dublin on November 10th. A night earlier, Alan Pullen re-launches Obsession at the same venue. On December 1st, Judge Jules’ protégé Commie makes his debut at Shooters… Speaking of Jules, the BBC1FM star plays Super Lust at Doc’s on December 23rd… BBC1FM star of the future Fergie is back at Redbox on November 17th… Miguel Migs plays Sir Henry’s on December 8th… Tricky and Luke Slater play The Ambassador on November 16th… Ian Pooley plays TBMC on December 1st…
