Nearly day-long rave at a national park near Brighton annoys locals, evokes spirit of '89.
An illegal rave taking place at the picturesque Devil's Dyke at the South Downs National Park near Brighton over the United Kingdom's bank holiday brought over 2,000 people.
Officers found themselves unable to shut down the rave and decided to simply give up. Needless to say residents weren't happy.
“God knows when it’s going to stop," a resident who wished to be unnamed told The Telegraph. "The bass just thump-thumps away and it never seems to change one bit. I can’t stand it any more."
Some were a little more lenient, including resident Colin Warburton.

“To be honest I’d had a few drinks myself on Saturday, so when it started up I didn’t really notice. ... As long as they’re having a laugh up there then I’m OK with it.”
In an official statement, the Sussex police spokesman referred to the rave as "good humoured though very noisy."
