Mount Palomar's latest track 'Embers,' featuring Harry Wilkinson of Maruja is set for release this Wednesday, November 15th.
No stranger to Berghain, Mount Palomar aka Neil Kerr is a seasoned veteran of the dance/electronic circuit, previously gracing the stage alongside the likes of Bicep, Blessed Madonna, Overmono and Midland. With an innovative use of electronic hardware and modular synthesis, Palomar's distinctly experimental approach to dance music has garnered him a reputation for boundary pushing, both at home and abroad.
From working alongside music giants BMG and XL Records early in his career to curating the largest Banksy exhibition of its time in 2014, and now subverting traditions and norms in dance music, Neil is amongst the most exciting producers in Ireland.
For 'Embers,' Mount Palomar has teamed up with Harry Wilkinson, a multi-instrumentalist from Stockport, Manchester. With his band Maruja, Harry has played sell-out shows in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Bristol. They have also gained support from the likes of NME, Glastonbury, and Anthony Fantano - becoming a bona fide underground phenomenon worldwide. Combining rap, spoken word, singing, guitar, drum work and production, Harry's singular artistry truly shines within the sonic confines of Mount Palomar's latest.

Channelling his uniquely honed songwriting chops and melding them with the sonic prowess of Wilkinson, Mount Palomar's latest single is a swirling maelstrom of liquid drum and bass, alternative hip-hop and experimental dance music. A slick wash of moody synth ambience gives way to a pulsing and vibrant soundscape of swirling synths, hypnotic drums and pounding bass, as Wilkinson's razor-sharp lyricism and magnetic vocal delivery take hold.
Siphoning the energy and darkness from the underground electronic scene wherein he made his bones, Palomar's production and Wilkinson's talents are the perfect electronic marriage — 'Embers' is as broodingly foreboding as it is frenetic. "Embers came about as a reaction to a difficult year that left me feeling exhausted and a bit lost," explains Kerr. "At points writing the track felt uncomfortable, I didn't want to hear, let alone work on, anything melancholic and frenetic but I felt that I needed to try to channel the frustrations of the year into a new work, in order to leave some of that anxiety behind.
"I knew I wanted a vocal feature for the track and was keen to work with someone who had integrity and an honest approach to their writing," Neil continues, "Embers was borne out of a need to leave shit behind, moving forward with less baggage and more optimism..."
