More announcements are to follow in the coming weeks.
Galway International Arts Festival and Róisín Dubh have today built on last week's first announcement that Two Door Cinema Club were to play the Heineken Big Top at the 2019 installment of the event by revealing that Bell X1 will be making their return.
The rock band have great pedigree at the event, having provided one of the most memorable shows in the history of the festival in 2011, before then going on to steal the show again by playing a sold-out gig in 2016. For the 2019 edition, which runs from the 15th-28th of July, they'll be taking over the Big Top stage on Friday the 19th.
The Kildare natives have more than earned their reputation as one of Ireland's foremost bands in recent history, being second only to U2 in terms of radio play, having been nominated for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year on four separate occasions, and with three of their records having previously debuted at #1 on the Irish Album Charts.
Their most recent effort, Arms, was released in 2016 and was the subject of widespread acclaim. It represented somewhat of a shift in style for Bell X1, who opted to utilised a more loose and irregular structure in their composition process, a decision which bore fruit as it arrived at second in the Irish Album Charts upon its release.
