The festivals have been partnering with the charity since 2008.
Two of Northern Ireland’s largest outdoor music events, Belsonic and Emerge Music Festival have collectively raised over £15,000 for Cancer Fund for Children through public donations this year. The long-standing relationship has been in place since 2008 and continues to support the vital work of the charity.
Cancer Fund for Children works to ensure that every young person under the age of 25 receives the right emotional and therapeutic support to help them cope better with the impact of cancer, ensuring that no child throughout Ireland faces the disease alone.
Belsonic took place in June 2024 and included acts such as Limp Bizkit, Picture This and Farmer’s Bash, while Emerge Belfast was programmed for August 24 and 25, with shows from blk., Peggy Gou, Hannah Laing and more.
Commenting on the festivals’ charity work, Cormac McMullan from Cancer Fund for Children said: “We are so thankful to Alan, his team and the general public who donated at Belsonic and Emerge concerts throughout 2024, raising an incredible £15,133.83. Every year Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional and therapeutic support to over 1,500 children and young people to help them better cope with the impact of cancer.

“We can’t deliver this without the support of longstanding charity partners like Belsonic and Emerge. In Northern Ireland we currently receive no government funding, and we are so grateful to Belsonic, Emerge and the NI public for continuing to raise vital funds to help us ensure that no child has to face cancer alone.”
Promoter Alan Simms commented: “We have worked with the Cancer Fund for Children for many years and have the greatest respect and admiration for the good work they do in the community helping families dealing with the most challenging of circumstances. We’d also like to thank Belsonic and Emerge customers for their appreciation and generosity in contributing to this great cause.”
