Belters Only on five Irish dance acts that you simply have to hear
BLK.
From Tipperary, Hot Press cover star blk. has had huge success with his recordings, as well as headlining festivals all over the world – and filling 3Arena in Dublin.
Robbie: “Zach’s a grafter. He used to send me his music at the very beginning and I knew immediately he was going to be a good producer. His music had something distinctive about it, so it was only a matter of time before he blew up. I was very proud of him and still am. He’s a good skin.”

MARK McCABE
No one has enjoyed the same longevity on the Irish dance scene as Mark McCabe – radio DJ, producer, remixer and club DJ. ‘I’m Feeling It’, his collab with Sunset Bros, topped 30million streams on Spotify...
Bissett: “He’s iconic, isn’t he? I’ve seen he’s bringing ‘Maniac 2000’ back out there for a 25-year anniversary. That song was huge – and it always will be huge. It’s like a national anthem in Ireland.”

CAMRINWATSIN
From Kildare, Camrinwatsin went from dominating the SoundCloud dance charts in 2023 to a Top 5 UK and Irish hit with ‘KISSES’, a collaboration with BL3SS and bbycloswe. He now has over 10 million monthly listeners.

Robbie: “Camrin’s a driving force. He is the example. He came in under us, got his head down and got stuck in and he’s getting his rewards for it now. He’s a brilliant listener.”

JAZZY
Yasmine ‘Jazzy’ Byrne made her breakthrough with Belters' single ‘Make Me Feel Good’ and has since had a string of hits, including ‘Somedays’ with Sonny Fodera and D.I.D., and has toured the world to widespread acclaim
Bissett: “I don’t know where to start. Jazzy’s a star. She’s our star. She’s the most streamed female Irish female artist – and that says it all. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer, more genuine, kind-hearted individual. That’s what she is.”

E.T.C.
That stands for Eoin Tracy Cronin, fact fiends, and he is most assuredly on the rise, releasing copious banging tracks – ‘Caught Up (Love Affair)’ is a stand-out – and gigging successfully in Ireland and the UK...
Robbie: “He’s a perfect example of somebody who doesn’t let outside noise get the better of him. He has a story like everyone else does, and if you got into it you’d respect him a lot more, because things haven’t been easy for him.
Bissett: “He’s humble. I think when you’re in this industry your attitude has to be right, and his is second-to-none. He’s hard-working and he’s always interested in what’s next. He’s smashing it.”

And If You Had To Pick One Track...
Robbie: “One song me and Bisset collectively love is ‘Always Right There’ by Curtis Gabriel. It really cemented our sound before we even realised it, because we both loved it individually, before we came together. The chords in the song, the vocals, the way the chops are used – it’s a very good blueprint as to how the Belters Only sound came about.”
