The self described "new wave trad" group will be performing at Whelan's on May 20th.
Fifteen years strong, Irish folk outfit Beoga continue to blaze forward in their career and build on their ever-growing list of accomplishments. Known for their signature sound, which combines trad music with a contemporary pop sensibility, the quintet found themselves topping the charts after collaborating with Ed Sheeran for two songs on his hit album '÷'.
They ruled the airwaves in Ireland with the song 'Galway Girl', going on to score a guest slot in Ed Sheeran's headline set at Glastonbury, as well as an appearance on Top of the Pops. Their two contributions to Sheeran's album, 'Galway Girl' and 'Nancy Mulligan' together garnered over 687 million streams on Spotify.
In addition to their work with Ed Sheeran, they have released five albums and written songs for Foy Vance and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid. They recently signed to Columbia records and are currently working on new music that will further develop their pop-trad sound.
