O'Connor has revealed plans to share a previously unreleased recording of 'The Rose'...
In the run-up to the release of Sinéad O'Connor's highly anticipated memoir, Rememberings (out June 1), Bette Midler has taken to Twitter to share her thoughts on the iconic Irish singer-songwriter.
Midler shared a screenshot of a comment – seemingly shared on The New York Times' website, under their recent article on O'Connor – in which the Irish artist is described as "brilliant and so real."
In her own caption, shared with her two million followers, Midler also expressed her praise for O'Connor: "Turns out she was right about...everything."

The post subsequently made its way to O'Connor herself.
"OMG! Bette!!!" she wrote in response from her @MagdaDavitt77 account. "You have no idea how much I have always adored you! Always wanted to sing with you! Your tweet had made my day!"
This morning, O'Connor revealed that she recorded a version of 'The Rose' "years ago" – a track made famous by Midler, after she sang it in the closing credits of the 1979 film, The Rose.
Describing it as a "major healing song for abuse survivors", O'Connor stated that she never released her cover of the song, but she "will post it on Twitter later."
"My lovely ex husband, John Reynolds, who produced it, is hunting for it right now," she said.
In the comments under Midler's post, O'Connor also took the opportunity to put a Trump supporter in her place...
Last year, Sinéad O'Connor spoke to Hot Press in the run-up to the release of her single 'Trouble Of The World' – reflecting on Trump, Black Lives Matter, and more. Revisit her cover story here, and order a copy below:
