The 35 year old pop artist has been sued over her use of 'Messy Mya' samples in her hit song Formation.
Beyoncé is allegedly being sued over claims that she used samples of a deceased rapper's recordings in her her hit single Formation, which is on her album 'Lemonade' , released in April of last year.
Anthony Barré - known by his stage name Messy Mya - was fatally shot in 2010. His estate are now looking for $20 million dollars in damages and royalties and also for the late rapper to be given proper credit as 'a writer, composer, producer and performer'
Barré's estate claim that voice clips from his 2010 video 'A 27 Piece Huh?' are used in the song without permission. Barré was not acknowledged, nor did the estate receive any compensation for the use of his samples.

Lines from his video ”Booking The Hoes From New Wildin" were also used throughout the song, such as “What happened after New Orleans?” and “Bitch, I'm back. By popular demand."
Beyoncé and her representatives have also been accused of ignoring the estate's previous attempts to contact them over this issue. According to Forbes, Sony Music and Jay-Z have also been named in the lawsuit.
