Beyoncé became the first woman to top the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hip Songs charts since 1958
On Wednesday, Beyoncé made history. She became the first Black woman to top the charts of Billboard's Hot Country Songs after 'Texas Hold 'Em' debuted at #1. This also makes her the second solo female artist to debut at #1 after Taylor Swift achieved the milestone with her re-recordings of 'Love Story' and 'All Too Well' in 2021.

Beyoncé was born in Houston, Texas, and her latest hit, 'Texas Hold 'Em,' is a love letter to her home state. This lead single from her upcoming 8th studio album was released during the Super Bowl. Another track titled "16 Carriages," was also released promptly after Beyoncé appeared in a Verizon commercial.
The new album is speculated to be Country and will be released on March 29th. During the Super Bowl, Beyoncé announced this album as Act II of the artist's critically acclaimed "Renaissance" album, released in 2022.

The achievement made substantial ripples in country music, a genre often seen as exclusive. Beyoncé has since surpassed Linda Martell's record, set more than 50 years ago, when Linda's song "Color Him Father" reached No. 22.
Beyoncé was also the first woman ever to reach #1 on both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hip Songs charts. Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, Ray Charles, and Morgan Wallen are the only other artists who have held this standing.
An Oklahoma country radio station denied a fan's request for Beyoncé’s new single, though, after a viral campaign on X, it agreed to play the single. The station reasoned that the reason for not playing the song was that Beyoncé's label hadn't given it the track at the time of the request. 'Texas Hold ‘Em' is now being promoted officially to country radio, says Billboard.
The single has also sparked some recent attention throughout social media. Irish TikTok dancers The Gardiner Brothers and Cairde have gone viral after uploading a video of their Irish twist on Beyoncé's latest hit song.

According to the music outlet, “Texas Hold ‘Em” has been streamed 19.2 million times since its surprise announcement.
