Tina Knowles took to Instagram to set the record straight after accusations were made about Beyoncé lightening her skin at the premiere of her new film, Renaissance – she calls out critics for "racism, sexism" and "double standards".
Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, is disgusted by "stupid, ignorant, self-hating racist statements" about Beyoncé "lightening her skin," "wearing platinum hair" and "wanting to be white".
Knowles was quick to defend her daughter as she is "sick and tired of people attacking her". Beyoncé attended the premiere of her documentary concert film, Renaissance sporting platinum blonde hair and a silver corseted dress with matching gloves.

Tina stood firm on the fact that the movie premiere's theme was silver, including "silver hair, a silver carpet, and silver attire" calling the critics "bozos".

She stated – "How sad is it that some of her own people continue the stupid narrative with hate and jealousy."
She admitted that Beyoncé would be "pissed at me for doing this, but I am fed up". The 69-year-old added that "every time she does something that she works her ass off for and is a statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience."
Knowles finished the post by praising her daughter – "This girl minds her own business. She helps people whenever she can. She lifts up & promotes black women and underdogs at all times."
