Bicep release their first output from a new label and event series, CHROMA.
Bicep just released their newest single ‘CHROMA 001 HELIUM’ as part of their CHROMA event series.
Bicep, also known as Andy Ferguson and Matt McBrair have released their new single as part of their new project. This project combines their record label, curated events and collaboration with David Rudnick and his studio, Terrain.
“HELIUM was written specifically for our London Ally Pally shows at the end of 2022.” Bicep comments. “The show felt a little too sweet in certain sections and we wanted to add some more grit into the show.”
This track has a more dark and club-like beat to it compared to the other music the group has released in recent years. “It’s actually a pretty fair representation of what we’re listening to and playing in our DJ sets,” Bicep says.
This new single and label follows the duo’s recent performance at Drumsheds, a London stage with the capacity to host 15 thousand people, where they played Bicep Presents CHROMA. Tickets for the event were sold out within minutes.
The event also featured other talent including Daphni (Caribou), Rival Consoles, Kelly Lee Owens, Clark, Marcel Dettmann, Special Request and SHERELLE.

For the new CHROMA performances Bicep says that “the same team who work on our BICEP LIVE show is working on CHROMA. This show will be much more fluid, constantly evolving and changing on a week to week basis with lost more experimentation.”
The CHROMA shows are a combination of a live show and a DJ show. The duo is also known for the visual appeal of their shows. In partnership with Rudnick’s studio they are working to rebrand Emirates Stadium (Arsenal) with Turner Prize-winner Jeremy Deller and Ruben Dagmoor to build up the visual aspects of this project.
Bicep has also announced two shows in London’s Finsbury Park, Brighton Beach and Coachella this year. Bicep will also be going on tour starting on February 11 at Snowbombing in Mayrhofen Austria.
The group will stop in Dublin on June 1 at Forbidden Fruit and then in Cork the following day at The Marquee. The rest of the tour dates and locations are still being released but tickets for the current shows are now available here. 'CHORMA 001 HELIUM' is now streamable on all platforms here.
