The RETURN TO STEELTOWN tour will take the band to Belfast, Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
Scottish rock band Big Country have announced their 40th anniversary Irish tour RETURN TO STEELTOWN, celebrating their UK no. 1 album Steeltown released in October 1984.
The band will be playing Belfast’s Limelight on September 26, Dublin’s Opium on September 27, Cork’s Cyprus Avenue on September 28 and Limerick’s Dolans on September 29, with Irish band The Psychs as special guests for all dates.
Formed in 1981 by Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson, Big County released their debut album The Crossing in 1983, joined by band members Mark Brzezicki and Tony Butler. This debut record went on to be nominated for 3 Grammys in the USA.
Their following album Steeltown, which came out in 1984, debuted at No.1 in the UK and contained the hit singles ‘East Of Eden, ‘Just a Shadow’ and ‘Where The Rose Is Sown’. The band went on to release 6 albums throughout the 80s and 90s.

Big Country’s latest show in Ireland dates back to the 2023 edition of Forest Fest festival. For this anniversary tour, the band will be accompanied on stage by singer and guitarist Simon Hough and bassist Gil Allan.
