Her third album is accompanied by the Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour which will conclude at Dublin's 3Arena on 26 and 27 July
Pop superstar Billie Eilish has released her highly anticipated third album Hit Me Hard and Soft with no preceding singles, three years after coming out with Happier Than Ever.
Thematically, the record centres around love, heartbreak, questions of toxic beauty standards and the pressures of global stardom.
Announcing the release on Instagram, Eilish said: “I put so much into this album and have never ever ever loved something more.”
According to the singer’s website, Hit Me Hard and Soft is meant to be listened to chronologically, so it “hits you hard and soft,” she wrote, “both lyrically and sonically, while bending genres and defying trends along the way.”

The fourth track of the record, ‘Birds of a Feather’, was teased ahead of the album’s release during the trailer for hit Netflix series Heartstopper last week.
Speaking of the shooting of her album cover, Eilish previously said the experience had left her in the worst pain of her life, as she was on her back underwater with a door open above her held down with a weight.
The accompanying Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour will conclude at Dublin's 3Arena for two nights on 26 and 27 July, with tickets starting from €73.90.
