Following her newest album release and tour announcement, Billie Eilish has released the music video for ‘Lunch’
Hours after releasing her highly-anticipated third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft, Billie Eilish has shared the first official music video for 'Lunch'.
The video, directed by the singer, is filled with visuals of Eilish singing and dancing directly into a vintage VHS camera lens, donning a distinctly ‘90s look; baggy jeans, oversized jerseys, white long-sleeved tees and a red cap worn sideways.
The song is said to be a ravenous confession to a craving-inducing crush, written after realising that she had been attracted to girls her whole life.
“That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real,” Eilish told Rolling Stone. “I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after. I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand.”
"I could eat that girl for lunch/ she dances on my tongue,” Eilish sings on the chorus of the upbeat track. “Tastes like she might be the one/ And I could never get enough/ I could buy her so much stuff/ It’s a craving, not a crush.”
Hit Me Hard And Soft is the third studio album the artist has released with no preceding singles, three years after coming out with Happier Than Ever.

The album was written by Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, her brother and long-time collaborator, who also produced the album.
According to the singer's website, Hit Me Hard and Soft is meant to be listened to chronologically, so it “hits you hard and soft,” she wrote, “both lyrically and sonically, while bending genres and defying trends along the way.”
The album's release came hand in hand with the announcement of a world tour, which concludes in Dublin’s 3Arena on 26 and 27 July.
Tickets for her performances in Dublin start from €73.90 and can be bought here.
