Rising artists Sub Motion, Day_S and Erica Cody ewill perform at the College ahead of the national deadline for CAO applications.
Tomorrow, BIMM Institute Dublin, Ireland’s leading modern music college will host up-and-coming stars (and BIMM alumni), Sub Motion, Day_S and Erica Cody for a special one-off performance at the institute ahead of the 2018 CAO deadline.
This will be a welcome return for some of the brightest acts who've graduated from the Institute in recent years.
Situated in the heart of Dublin’s Liberties, BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music) is a well-established hub of artistry and creativity, offering a BA (Hons) degree in Commercial Modern Music in addition to a part time CPD Diploma in Professional Musicianship. Now in its seventh year of teaching, BIMM Institute Dublin was the first college in Ireland to offer a degree level course in modern commercial music, and students on the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) validated BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music course must specialise in one of five streams: guitar, bass, drums, vocals or song writing. The deadline for application to the BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music degree programme is February 1,through the CAO system for September 2018 enrolments. The college also offers students the opportunity to attend master classes with many high-profile industry guests.
Since graduating, Sub Motion, have made a name for themselves on the music scene both in Ireland and overseas. They're an explosive Dublin-based punk/rock band and started a very eventful 2017 in the studio, recording several new live tracks live with James Darkin at the helm (Kanye, Funeral Suits, Hozier, Will.i.am, Rihanna). The band’s live show has been described as “unfettered loudness and instant impact”.
DAY_S is a 22-year- old singer-songwriter and Dublin native who brings to the table his signature blend of expertly crafted piano lines, soulful vocals and solemn but unapologetic lyrics. DAY_S released his first solo single Last Night on October 13th, 2017 and it quickly went viral, surpassing 1.3 million combined streams on Spotify.

Erica-Cody is a 21-year- old singer, songwriter and producer from Dublin who brings 90s R'n'B back to now with some modern elements. Working alongside Grammy nominated multi-platinum producer and recording artist Skrapp (formerly signed to Bystorm/RCA alongside Miguel) who is based in Atlanta, the debut single from the EP is set for release early this year followed by her EP in early Spring.
Also new to BIMM Institute Dublin is the Liber8 Music Project, which is a new afterschool programme for 13-to- 17-year olds living in Dublin 8 and its surroundings. BIMM Institute Dublin and the Digital Hub established the pilot programme from September to December 2017. 20 participants attend a 10-week programme, held twice a week at The Digital Hub and BIMM Institute. This Free-to- attend programme is a wonderful opportunity for young people, who may have limited exposure to music and digital media, to immerse themselves in a creative programme, which will also introduce them to the sort of 21st century skills they’ll need for a successful career in the music industry. During the 10- week programme, the young people complete three modules; ‘Music Styles’ ‘Introduction to
Performance Techniques’ and ‘An Introduction to Recording and Sound Design’. The name of this programme was inspired by the community in which The Digital Hub and BIMM are based; The historic Liberties area of Dublin 8. Due to the success of the first course, a new term has been confirmed to start in February 2018 with 20 new students.
