Curve: "Blackerthreetracker" (Anxious Records)
Imagine a cross between Kraftwerk, Big Black, Dusty Springfield and Laurie Anderson backgrounded by an antagonistic and challenging techno-industrial white noise and you might get an idea of the kind of rich sonic attack that infiltrates the mind and threatens to alter the delicate balance of your impoverished tympana. I notice that the first song here, 'Missing Link' was produced by a person called Flood who coincidentally (or not!) also produced and mixed U2's 'Lemon'. It's rare that you come across a genuinely innovative new sound but Curve come vertiginously close to it. For that alone, they're the unofficial third single of this fortnight.
