The National Youth Media Awards offer a fresh approach to harm reduction...
RTÉ’s Blathnaid Treacy is an ambassador again for the 2018 Drugs.ie National Youth Media Awards. She's pictured here with Ana Liffey Drug Project CEO Tony Duffin.
This year the competition is split into two with ‘Talk about cannabis and the risks’ and ‘Talk about underage drinking and the risks’ the themes for the 12-14 and 15-17-year old entrants, and 18-21 and 21-25-year-olds being asked to reflect on ‘Club drugs – what are the risks?’ and ‘Performance and image enhancing drugs – what are the risks?’
Judges include our man Stuart Clark who says, “I was blown away last year by the quality of the entries. They were passionate, creative and very much tuned into the subject. Us old duffers could learn a lot from them in terms of getting the harm reduction message across!”
The closing date for an original news article, video/animation, audio recording – this includes songs and solo raps - or poster to be submitted to drugs.ie/resources/awards/about_the_awards is January 22.
As well as the admiration of the nation, winners will receive One4all gift cards, so get creating!
