The new group, Simple Creatures, also shared their debut single, 'Drugs.'
Blink-182's bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus has joined forces with All Time Low's frontman Alex Gaskarth to form a new group, Simple Creatures. The pop-punk pair shared the news today, along with a debut single, 'Drug.'
Taking to Twitter, Hoppus announced that he was "so stoked to finally share this secret with the world."
People!! So stoked to finally share this secret with the world. Alex and I started a band called @simplecreatures and our first single “Drug” is out Friday everywhere but you can listen to it here now! https://t.co/imAKxyVwOH. EP1 out in March. https://t.co/e05RzIHPFI

The single was written by their friend, producer Zakk Cervini, who has previously worked with blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Good Charlotte.

Speaking with Kerrang, Gaskarth remarked: "Drug is a song about someone or something you want the most, being terrible for you... Feels great until it doesn't, but then you can't stop."
The new project doesn't spell the end of Blink-182 or All Time Low, however. Earlier this month, The Chainsmokers announced that they had collaborated with Blink-182 on a new song.
Just did a session with blink182 and wrote an amazing song. We can die happy now
