Luke Reilly of Otherkin will release his debut full-length as solo artist Blood Donor early next year.
Luke Reilly has announced his debut album under his solo moniker, Blood Donor, after his band Otherkin disbanded in 2019.
Reilly shared on his Instagram that his debut album will be released early next year. The first single, entitled 'Lonely Street', will be released next month. Calling it "a long time coming," Reilly explained how the album was meant to be released in 2020 before the pandemic hit.
"To cut a long story short, I went back to working as a doctor and music had to take a backseat. It would be an understatement to say that it was one of the busiest and most taxing years of my life!" he explained.
Reilly went on to say that after playing a show at Whelan's with James Vincent McMorrow last March, he realised there was "a gaping void" in his life. He was the lead singer and guitarist for Dublin based garage-rock band Otherkin for seven years before the band called it quits. Performing music was such a big part of his life, and it eventually dawned on him how much he missed it.
After this epiphany, he finished the album and got a 5-piece band together to play live shows. "There's plenty of music and live shows on the horizon, and I really hope to see you at one of those shows soon," Reilly wrote.

The album name or exact release date has yet to be announced, but seems to be highly anticipated judging by fans in his comments section.
