"The festival is no more. A wake will take place to honour its memory."
After "hitting pause" on the festival last year, the Body & Soul team have emerged once again – sharing cryptic posts on social media this afternoon teasing an upcoming event, A.Wake, set to take place on August 16–18.
"The festival is no more," the organisers have stated on the Body & Soul website. "A wake will take place to honour its memory."
Although few other details have been revealed, people are invited to register their interest in the event on bodyandsoul.ie – and "share a Body & Soul memory you'd like to carry into the wake."
"Let the body be still," one social media post reads. "Let the soul be free."
In February 2024, the Body & Soul team announced that there would be no 2024 edition of the festival, as they wanted to give themselves "the space to dream and think bigger."

"When we started Body & Soul, it grew from a place of curiosity, exploration, and a myriad of worldly influences," they remarked at the time. "After twenty years at the forefront of festival culture, we couldn’t be more proud of all we’ve achieved and of the beautiful community we’ve created around us.
"But we now find ourselves in a different time – the world has changed, and it’s time for us to evolve further."
Since its inception back in 2010, Body & Soul has played host to the legendary likes of Nick Cave, St Vincent, PiL, Solange, Jon Hopkins, Four Tet, and Bonobo – as well as some of the country's most innovative homegrown acts.
The festival famously took place around the summer solstice weekend, at Ballinlough Castle in Co. Westmeath.
Body & Soul previously had its own designated area within Electric Picnic, before announcing that it was ending that 16-year partnership in December 2019.
