After a five-year hiatus, the acclaimed indie-rock band have returned with new music.
Bombay Bicycle Club are back with a brand new single, 'Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)'. The release is the indie-rock band's first new music since 2014's So Long, See You Tomorrow, which went to No.1 in the UK and received an Ivor Novello Award and a Mercury Prize nomination.
Recorded at London's KONK Studio with producer John Congleton, 'Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)' is a convincing re-introduction to the acclaimed band. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Bombay Bicycle Club were working on a brand new album - details of which are expected to be announced soon.
Since announcing their return after their five-year hiatus, the band having been keeping themselves busy with several high profile live appearances on both sides of the Atlantic. In August, they played their first Irish shows in six years, with a performance at the Cork Opera House on August 3 and a stellar set at All Together Now on August 4.
“Since late last year we’ve been getting back into the swing of playing music together," the band remarked in a statement about their return. “More than anything it just felt great to be in the same room playing again. It made us realise what a good thing we have and has given us renewed energy and enthusiasm for the future.
"The joy we were getting out of playing the old songs seemed to naturally lead us onto working on new material, so we’re becoming immersed in that as we speak. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we have something new for you guys to hear.”
