Bon Jovi do know how to put on a show – and as stadium rockers go, they, uh, rock.
Jumping and prancing around the big ‘Empire State’ stage set like a combination of Mick Jagger and Michael Flatley, Jon Bon Jovi and company promised a show that was "bigger, better, longer, wider and deeper" than anything that had gone before. Now when you make a promise to a stadium full of people, you can’t exactly go back on it, can you? And so it transpired that Mr. Jovi and his band played for nearly three hours, never dropping the pace, working the crowd into a frenzy.
"We’re going to move this thing up into second gear," boomed Jon, which he did with the aid of a large dose of ‘Bad Medicine’ with a spoonful of fireworks to help it go down.
Four encores later and people began to wonder if, in spite of being around for twenty odd years, Bon Jovi had any more songs left. The problem was solved when Jon, sporting a rather odd rainbow coloured cap, sang ‘Twist and Shout’ and then U2’s ‘One’.

As promised, it only ended once the crowd had been fully satisfied. Say what you like, in the days of pop and pap, Bon Jovi do know how to put on a show – and as stadium rockers go, they, uh, rock.
