There's plenty for U2 aficionados to sink their teeth into in the latest issue of Hot Press.

First up, in an Irish exclusive, Bono and Edge discuss their recently released 'shadow album' How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb. They told us how the original version became a mega-hit, what it was like revisiting the band's archives – and how this project might contain some clues to their next musical chapter.

"Edge has likened Re-Assemble to a throw-down, in terms of where U2 might go next," Bono said. "I want to hear the sound of our band in a room. To feel a performance get away from us and be better for that. I experienced that last month (in a rehearsal room) with Larry. Adam and Edge and I want more."

The new old album arrived on 29 November, and contains ten previously unreleased tracks from the original How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb recording sessions. Also in the new issue, U2 expert Pat Carty shines a knowledgeable light on the hitherto unheard tunes, and how they give us a fresh sense into what makes the 22-time Grammy winners tick.

Rounding off a stacked U2 special is an archive interview, as Stuart Clark revisits his chat with Bono in Dublin in 2004. The frontman discusses pissing off Brian Eno, the band's landmark deal with Apple, the sounds that influenced How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb and more.
