The new track is based off the piano ballad the U2 frontman shared on Instagram last week.
Amid increased coronavirus restrictions, Bono and will.i.am have joined forces from opposite sides of the globe to present a star-studded new track, 'Sing For Life'.
The inspiring song, which also features Jennifer Hudson and Yoshiki, started life as 'Let Your Love Be Known' – a piano ballad that Bono shared on Instagram from his home in Dublin last week.
Taking to the U2 Instagram account, he shared a raw clip of the newly penned track: "For the Italians who inspired it...for the Irish... for ANYONE who this St. Patrick's day is in a tight spot and still singing. For the doctors, nurses, carers on the frontline, it's you we're singing to."
In the clip, broadcast from his home in Ireland, Bono introduces 'Let Your Love Be Known' as "a little postcard from bubblin' Dublin", and noted that he "made up [the song] about an hour ago".
The lyrics include further references to his home city: "Yes, there was silence. Yes, there was no people here/ Yes, I walked through the streets of Dublin, and no one was near."

The song has since taken on new life as a collaboration with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
"This song was created to bring JOY," will.i.am revealed on YouTube. "In times like these, creative people must continue to collaborate... Whether you are a computer scientist, an engineers, a Therapist or a Teacher, just because we are self-isolating or in quarantine doesn't mean you are alone... The beauty of international connectivity is that nobody is alone on the internet! Use this time to be creative and collaborate remotely to solve problems... A healthy body also means a healthy mind..."
