Stuart Bailie's Trouble Songs: Music And Conflict In Northern Ireland is out in May.
Hitting shelves on May 11 will be Trouble Songs: Music And Conflict In Northern Ireland, a tasty looking new book by former Hot Press-er Stuart Bailie who gets Bono, Christy Moore, The Undertones, Stiff Little Fingers, Orbital, Kevin Rowland, Terri Hooley, The Rubberbandits and surviving members of The Miami Showband to help with the telling of the story.
In one of the most significant chapters, the aforementioned Mr. Hewson writes exclusively about the Dublin, Monaghan and Enniskillen bombings, his work with Christy Moore pertaining to the North and the lyrics to ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’.
He famously presided over the 1998 Good Friday Agreement ‘Yes’ concert handshake between John Hume and David Trimble, which was MC-ed by Bailie and also featured Ash.
Christy brings the story up to date by explaining his graveside rendition ‘The Time Has Come’ at Martin McGuinness’ funeral.
