There ain't no party like a Booka party - and the much-vaunted horn blowers showed just why...
Over the summer, we've said - on more than a few occasions - that Booka Brass Band are the ultimate festival band in Ireland. And, going by the sight of sousaphone master Jack ripping of his shirt to play in nothing but a pair of shorts, it's obvious that it's always festival season for the Dublin-based party-starters.
Cuts from their EP Make That Do Noise were mixed with newer material on which the group are currently working. Of course, there's always an exciting cover or two thrown in for good measure; this time, it was their take on R Kelly's 'Ignition' that got the sizeable crowd most excited, proving that 12 years has done nothing to dull our enthusiasm to break 'em off with a little preview of the remix.
The sun has barely set at the RDS, but make no mistake; the Metropolis party is truly in full swing...
