Ask nicely and Breed 77 might play you their Latino metal version of ‘Zombie’ when they visit the Spring & Airbrake (April 19) and Temple Bar Music Centre, Dublin (20).
The Cranberries cover also appears as a bonus track on the Anglo-Gibraltarian rockers’ new single, ‘Look At Me Now’, which is due on April 23.
“We were getting ready for a couple of really big shows in Gibraltar and Spain, hour and half sets, and we were thinking about how we were going to build them up to that length,” explains singer Paul Isola. “We didn’t want it to get too long, or too boring, and mixing it up is usually the solution to that. We couldn’t decide what to do though, but then ‘Zombie’ came up on my iTunes. Me and Danny [Felice, guitarist] were listening to it and thought it was a really good choice. The lyrics are really poignant, especially in this day and age. It was a no-brainer. It’s only four chords!”
